Over the years Lapis S.r.l. has specialized in the
development of molds for thermoplastic materials dedicated to the realization of critical components requiring: a high aesthetic quality, details such as grids and dots, and finishings for the automotive sector.
Lapis S.rl. can design various equipment’s, such as:
- 2K molds
- gas assisted injection
- molds for parts to be chromed
- molds with cascade hot runner system
- etc…
Lapis S.r.l. has gained a deep knowledge in the proper design of molding processes of materials such as:
- SMC (Sheet Moulding Compound)
- BMC (Bulk Moulding Compound)
- GMT (Glass Mat Reinforced Thermoplasitcs)
- LFT (Long Fiber Thermoplastics)
Lapis S.r.l. can provide solutions and equipment for
HS-RIM and
RRIM processes for all those components that require aesthetic qualities but do not have a high production volume that justifies the investment in industrialized production processes (i.e. plastic injection molding).
The company has the expertise to develop products and molds for technologies such as:
- RIM : integral and flexible polyurethane.
- HS-RRIM : High Speed reinforced RIM for body parts in place of thermoplastics.
- DCPD – better known under the trade name Polymer “Telene“, for applications on medium/large bodywork components, low cost molds.
In the realization of covers, even of great size, thermoforming is a good solution to
keep down the equipment costs.

The composites are now considered
the future of material technologies in many application fields, matching the need for reduced weight with high performance in terms of robustness and sturdiness.
Lapis S.r.l. makes use of up to date technologies for composite materials. From lamination and curing in autoclave to the use of RTM processes and vacuum infusion.
When the molds need to be
independent from the press machines for molding, due to functional and/or logistic reasons, Lapis S.r.l. can provide “stand-alone” equipment integrating all the hydraulics and electrical hardware for their handling.
